RISS has been conducting its own research, as well as collaborative works on specific subjects concerning the Sleep Culture.


Sleep Culture Research --- Questionnaire survey results on dream ---

What does a dream mean to the people in Japan today? The questionnaire was about what association does the word "dream" have for the respondents. From the result of this questionnaire, we discuss on the activities during our sleep, from other aspects than medical science.



Sleep Culture Research --- Questionnaire survey results on bedroom ---

What kind of place is the most comfortable sleeping space for Japanese? Moreover, what other thing are done in the sleeping space, other than to sleep? This is the survey result of 100 respondents.


Sleep Culture Research --- Questionnaire survey results on children's sleep ---

We have sent out questionnaires to parents of children from 0 to 3 years old. The result clarifies the influence of parents on their children's sleep.


Sleep Culture Research --- Questionnaire survey results on sleep wear ---

What kind of clothes do Japanese put on when going to bed? We have named generically the clothes worn during the sleep as "sleep wear", and surveyed the contributing factors when people choose them. We have also considered ideal sleep wear.

What is the process of sleep of the people in Japan today? As part of the research on sleeping environment, we have named the articles found around the bed "sleeping articles", and conducted questionnaire survey.
